What Ring Size Do I Need?
Generally each ½" of capacity holds approximately 100 sheets of standard copy paper (20# bond) for round ring binders.

How Do I Measure My Ring?
For a round ring mechanism, measure the inside diameter of the ring metal.
For a D-ring mechanism, measure the straight portion of the ring.
Many people measure the outside spine and pay way too much for a binder that is larger than they need!

What Does Sheet Size Mean?
Binder sizes are listed with the binding edge side first (the side with the holes). A standard sheet size binder is listed as 11"x8½"+½" tab allowance. This leaves plenty of room on the side so that your very important INDEX TAB DIVIDERS do not stick out of your binder when closed.

Other sheet sizes are: A4 for European sheet sizes, 8½x5½+½" , 9½x6+½" , 8½x14+½" for legal, and 11x17+½".

What if My Sheet Size is Not Listed?
We have an extensive assortment of dies for different sheet sizes. Please just ask and we will either find an existing die or create one to your exact specifications. For Casemade binders, many times we do not even need a new die.

What is the Difference Between Round and D Rings?
Round rings are the most common choice and can mount on the spine or back cover. Rivets may be exposed (visible to the eye) or concealed. Both concealed and exposed are very strong, durable constructions.

Straight D and Angle D (sometimes called slant D) rings hold approximately 20% more sheets than a comparable round ring. These rings allow sheets to lay flatter and turn more easily.

What do the Materials and Binder Types on the Quote Form Mean?
The wide range of product can be broken down by material and usage as follows:

Heat Sealed Vinyl Binders: These are the standard vinyl binders where sheets of vinyl are printed and sealed over rigid chip board (we do not cut corners with the lower end fluted boards). Common finishes on the vinyl are French Calf and Suedene. We also offer a higher end line of vinyls with leather finishes, patterns, and a variety of textures.

Casemade / Turned Edge Binders: This is a higher end treatment where paper, cloth, linen, leather or vinyl is wrapped around chipboard much like a book is made. We can use matching or contrasting liners per your selection. This is available as either a standard flat back binder or a rounded, multi-scored (Euro-hinge) spine binder. These can be upgraded by adding perimeter stitching, foam padding or brass corners.

Film Laminated or Litho Wrap Binders: This is a type of casemade binder. We take your pre-printed sheets (or we can print from your disk) and wrap them around the binder. Printing can be on the outside only, or outside and inside.

Poly Binders: Polyethylene and polypropylene are single sheet construction with scored hinges and are available in various gauges or thicknesses. These are sometimes called "soft" , "flexible" or "plastic" binders.

Metal Binders: Our line of Aluminum Binders can be flat back or rounded spine. These can be printed or etched.

Clear Insertable Overlay Binders: These binders are open at the top to insert and remove your own sheets. This is a stock item and is available in all sheet sizes. Custom treatments for clear insertable binders include different materials, or printing on the binders.

Entrapment Binders: Customer supplied (or we can print from disk) sheets are trimmed to size and encapsulated under a layer of clear vinyl. This is sealed on all sides to prevent your sheets from being removed. These binders may also be silk screened.

Business Card Holders: These provide a place inside the binder for business cards. Available in either the economical 2 sided seal (sealed into the lower left corner of the inside front cover) or a 3 sided seal (usually centered in the lower half of the inside front cover). Many clients use multiple business card holders in a single binder.
